The Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner
With Bentley's 100th anniversary looming next year and the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition of Mulsanne. It pays homage to the company's founding father, W.O. Bentley and even includes a piece of one of his own cars.
The special model that can be purchased on a long-wheelbase or a regular-wheelbase Mulsanne or Mulsanne Speed is inspired by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. was using as his personal vehicle. The influence of the car can be seen in the interior. For instance, a Mulliner illuminated bar cabinet features a display with a piece of the 8 Litre crankshaft displayed inside.
Other highlights include a chrome application that runs back along the side of the car, which has an air vent with a photoetched B shape that features W.O. The front grille is designed on 1930s-inspired Onyx, and there's an additional chrome cladding around the lower spoilers on the left and right. The front grille is unique, sporting a chrome shell instead of the usual body-color mesh that is found on the regular Mulsanne and featuring the Flying B logo as well.
The key box is engraved with Bentley wings and comes with an black flock lining. Individual key pouches can be bought to match or contrast the key box. The set commemorative includes an exact 1:18 scale model as well a flying "B" paperweight. It also comes with an unpublished booklet with never before seen images of the original Bentley 8 Litre.
The Bentley Wing Key Box
This accessory is perfect for Bentley enthusiasts and owners. It comes with a distinctive keybox embossed with Bentley wings. The key box is carefully wrapped in tissue paper within the gift box, it is the perfect gift for birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions.
The knurling of the metal-to-metal key fob resembles the textures you'll find in the interior, such as the controls for temperature of the seat and the shift knob. "We wanted the knurling to be as elegant and consistent as possible," says Van Braekel. It was important to keep the dimensions and shape of the fob the same.
Bentley Mulliner customers are able to select any color from the Bentley portfolio, as well any combination of veneers or hides, and custom embroidery. Around 400,000 stitches are Bentley's signature diamond-in-diamond quilting across its entire cabin, and immersive lighting settings can be adjusted to suit a range of different moods.
Outside illuminated treadplates and brushed silver clocks are available as standard. The Bentley Wing Key Pouches
Bentley's "Speed" series is very entertaining in that it takes the Continental GT's exaggerated extravagance and turns it up to eleven.
